Haber's Process Simulation

If you were absent or were not able to finish the Haber's Process Simulation, here are the instructions for how to get there and the lab questions.  The data table with 8 trials and questions is due Tuesday 4/27.

How to get there:
1.  Go to Lincoln website
2.  Go to Faculty pages
3.  Go to Scheffler
4.  Choose Chemistry 1-2 and click
5.  Scroll down down down until you get to Unit 9 (Equilibrium Systems).  Choose 4b (Habers Process Simulation in excel).

Data Table:
Make a data table with columns for temperature, pressure, catalyst, time to equilibrium, percent yield, and profit/loss (red numbers are losses, black are profits).

Questions:

1)  What conditions do you recommend for the optimum production of ammonia?

2)  How do each of the following affect the yield of ammonia and the time to reach equilibrium?

-increase in pressure
         -decrease in temperature

-the use of a catalyst
3)  What cost factors must you consider when producing ammonia?
